The Nebraska History Museum in Lincoln preserves the history of our state’s storied past. The museum’s collections include archaeological artifacts, historical photographs, videos, books and numerous other items that provide a colorful chronology of the people of the Cornhusker State. The museum is the flagship of the Nebraska State Historical Society which also maintains more 500 historical markers state-wide.

The society preserves 7 historical sites throughout the state including the Thomas P. Kennard State Historic Site in Lincoln, Chimney Rock National Historic Site in Bayard, the Fort Robinson History Center in Crawford, the Neligh Mill State Historic Site in Neligh, the John Neihardt State Historic Site in Bancroft, the Willa Cather State Historic Site in Red Cloud and the Sen. George Norris State Historic Site in McCook.
