Senator George Norris served 40 years in Congress and was considered a “champion in the fight for common folks.” The Nebraska State Historical Society preserves his McCook home where he lived from 1902 to 1944. Norris is known for bringing power to farms across the country via the Rural Electrification Act and for advocating for Nebraska’s one-house legislature. The building is open for tours Wednesday through Saturday afternoons. Call ahead to confirm times.
The home of former Nebraska Gov. Frank Morrison is also in this neighborhood.
