Hastings, population 25,000, is the largest community in Adams County. Residents from a century ago would recognize many of the community’s downtown buildings today. Much of the historic district has been renewed and renovated, but its classic architecture is proudly retained. While always moving forward, Hastings always stays true to its past.
Historic Downtown Hastings is vibrant with people bouncing from shop to shop and gallery to restaurant. The community’s 2nd Street is the heart of the district. Visitors and locals explore the district on foot. Glimpses of Hastings past are on display at the Hastings Museum. Remnants of the Hastings Ammunition Depot still stand east of town as a visible reminder of this area’s importance during World War II.
