Flatwater Music Festival
This annual celebration in Hastings celebrates music and community at the Prairie Loft Center for Outdoor & Agricultural Learning. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket and kick-back and enjoy the show. Or, bring an instrument and join in one of the many jam sessions and workshops.

In a delightfully silly tradition, Beatrice breaks out a shop vac and an inflatable swimming pool to create massive amounts of bubbles for children to play with at the Foam Party in Charles Park. There’s fun for all ages, with a huge birthday cake saluting Nebraska’s 150th year of statehood and a parade, car show, beard contest and live music rounding out this fun-filled weekend.

Wayne Chicken Show
Thousands of chickens raised in Wayne County and surrounding communities lay millions of eggs each year. This important industry is the inspiration for the world-famous Wayne Chicken Show. The July event features plucky contestants imitating barnyard fowl in its National Cluck-Off and challenging their capacity for fun in the hard-boiled egg eating contest. The event heats up with the hot wing-eating competition and cools during the wine tasting.

The Nemaha County Fair draws visitors to downtown Auburn for two parades that lead out to the fairgrounds. It's three days of carnival rides, fair food and 4-H fun.

John C. Fremont Days celebrates the explorer's American frontier expeditions. Nicknamed "Pathfinder," the community of Fremont was named after him. This 3-day festival in July includes a living history encampment at Clemmons Park, arts and crafts, beer garden, rough stock rodeo, food court and a Spam cooking contest. The canned meat product “Spam” was invented in Fremont. Community members at the 2011 Fremont Days event set a world record by building a 1,652-pound Spam sandwich.
