John C. Fremont Days
Event Navigation
John C. Fremont Days celebrates the explorer’s American frontier expeditions. Nicknamed “Pathfinder,” the community of Fremont was named after him. This 3-day festival in July includes a living history encampment at Clemmons Park, arts and crafts, beer garden, rough stock rodeo, food court and a Spam cooking contest. The canned meat product “Spam” was invented in Fremont. Community members at the 2011 Fremont Days event set a world record by building a 1,652-pound Spam sandwich.
