Martin Short and Robert Klein are two of the funny men scheduled to keep audiences in stitches during this 10th annual celebration of American comedy. The Great American Comedy Festival was founded in 2008 to honor hometown comedy hero Johnny Carson. The four-day comedy festival event brings world-class entertainment to Norfolk and preserves Carson’s memory for newer generations every June. The Johnny Carson Theatre at Norfolk Senior High School is center stage for the hilarity.

For more than 50 years Johnson has hosted a Father’s Day Chicken BBQ. The celebration has grown into a weekend event with a 5k fun run, tractor pulls and live entertainment. More than a thousand chicken halves are roasted over an enormous outdoor wood-fired pit and served up each year.

Seward’s Fourth of July Celebration
Seward gets loud each summer when “America’s Small Town Fourth of July City” launches its Independence Day celebration with a celebratory bang. The community’s first observance of the holiday was in 1868.
