Mayhew Cabin & John Brown’s Cave

The Mayhew Cabin & John Brown’s Cave in Nebraska City offers a chance to step back in history and take a look at a stop along the historic Underground Railroad. The Mayhew Cabin served as a private residence until 1938 when it was opened to the public. Today, visitors can tour the restored house and descend down into a cave to see how slaves were kept hidden on their journeys to freedom. Open seasonally starting in late April.
