L.A. Brandhoefer used locally-produced red bricks to build a mansion overlooking Ogallala in 1887. The walls are 16 inches thick. The grand home is now the Mansion on the Hill Museum. The District 7 one-room schoolhouse was moved here from south of Roscoe.
