St. Paul, population 2,300, was incorporated in 1881. A variety of shops along the brick-paved streets of its historic downtown bustle with foot traffic. The Howard County Historical Village includes the Farwell Lutheran Church, the St. Libory School, the Cotesfield Post Office and several other historic buildings. The Miletta Vista Winery attracts wine-sippers and travelers seeking scenic views of the vines and beautiful North Loup River Valley, five miles north of St. Paul.
Sports-minded travelers will love St. Paul. From its modern American Legion baseball facilities on its western edge, to the baseball slugger painted on its water tower toward the east, the community of 2,300 is known officially as the Historic Baseball Capital of Nebraska. The Museum of Nebraska Major League Baseball pays tribute to Nebraskans who played in the big leagues.
