Steve and Bobbi Olson
With a population of 27,000, Fremont is the largest community in Dodge County. Located on Highway 275 between Omaha and Norfolk, the city serves as the trade center of this farming area. Six antique stores in Fremont’s historic downtown maintain the community’s title of “Eastern Nebraska Antique Capital” while a close proximity to the Platte River and many lakes make it a destination for outdoor adventure. Fishing holes, swimming areas and sandy beaches can be found at Fremont Lakes State Recreation Area while Bryson’s Airboat Tours offer a rather loud, but fast way to “fly” across the Platte.
Three YMCA facilities in Fremont promote health and fun, including a wellness center and an ice skating facility. The Splash Station water park offers another fun way to beat the heat every summer.
