This annual event celebrates Hastings’ historic ties to a classic American beverage. Edwin Perkins invented Kool-Aid in Hastings in 1927. Family fun reigns here every August with special visits from the Kool-Aid Man, a parade, a car show and giant inflatable fun houses. A 5k fun run, Kool-Aid Kardboard boat races, Kool-Aid chugging contests and the world’s largest Kool-Aid stand make this one super-sweet summer festival.
