Rock Creek State Fish Hatchery

Northwest of Benkelman, the Rock Creek State Fish Hatchery is open to the public. Hybrid tiger trout leap from ponds to catch handfuls of chow tossed by visitors. The hatchery produces nearly half the trout stocked in the state, but it also raises wiper, rock bass, yellow perch, fathead minnow and other species. Take Highway 34 to the community of Parks, then follow the signs approximately 4 miles northwest.
