The Museum of Missouri River History in Brownville is located just south of U.S. Highway 136 in Riverside Park. This unique museum is housed in the Captain Meriwether Lewis dredge, a National Historic Landmark. Step aboard this dustpan dredge for a first-hand look at a 1931-era vessel that was used to help to improve the navigability of the river and help control flooding. The museum’s exhibits showcase the river’s rich, intertwined legacy with Native Americans, pioneers and the exploration and settling of the West.
