Lincoln County Historical Museum

The North Platte Canteen is commemorated at the Lincoln County Historical Museum. The World War II canteen met every train and fed the service men and women who passed through the depot – about 6 million military personnel in all. The museum also features a village of historic buildings, including a Pony Express station and the old Fort McPherson captain’s quarters. This quality attraction is not far from the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park.
