Centennial Hall Museum
Centennial Hall, erected in 1897, is the oldest standing high school building in Nebraska. It is a museum today. Twelve rooms tell the history of the school, the pioneer era and Valentine. The more than 1,700 bells of the Hallock Bell Collection fill an entire room upstairs. Ask about the student who died here long ago after being poisoned by her clarinet reed. Is her presence the reason for the occasional rocking chair rocking on its own? Third and Macomb streets. (402) 376-1455.
